The power of human bodies in a nutshell

The energy produced from the human body is what we call the human power and it comes mainly from the muscles. The body heat also does work like warming shelters, food, or other humans.

While we got cars and buses, there exists another form of transport called human-powered transport which includes bicycles, rowing, skiing and many other forms of mobility.

Human-powered equipment on the other side are used to generate electrical energy where there is no other source of power, such as survival radio, military radio, windup radio and pedal-powered transmitter.

The average human metabolism produces heat at a basal metabolic rate of around 80 watts.

A good cyclist can produce around 400 watts during a bicycle race over an hour.
